First logos for new Seattle businesses

Wordmarks, icons and starter kits for new Seattle businesses and startups, from coffee shops to software teams.

New businesses in Seattle

Seattle has a busy mix of new businesses: small software and app startups, coffee shops and bakeries, outdoor gear makers, studios and service companies. Startups there often need an app icon and a favicon before they need a sign, so we start icon work at small sizes and run the pixel grid tests from the first sketch.

Gray, rainy winters and short winter days mean storefront graphics are seen in flat light for much of the year. Pale, low-contrast logos fade into a wet street, so for exterior signs and window decals we suggest the strongest version of your mark and check it against a dark, gray background.

How a Seattle logo project runs

  1. You fill in the quote form with your business name, what you sell and where the logo will be used first.
  2. We reply with questions or a written quote that lists what you get and how many review rounds are included.
  3. You see a few early directions, pick one, and mark it up.
  4. We deliver the final logo files, and the starter kit if you ordered one.

The work happens by email, shared folders and video calls booked in Pacific time. We have no office in Seattle, and a logo project doesn't need one. If a local sign shop, printer or embroidery shop will produce your first items, send their file specs and we'll set the files up to match.

Questions

We're a software startup. Do you design product interfaces?

No. We design the logo, the icon and the starter kit, and hand them to your product designer or developer with app icon files and color values ready to use.

What time zone do you use for Seattle clients?

We book calls in Pacific time. Files, sketches and feedback go by email and shared folders.

Ask for a quote

Cost depends on whether you need a wordmark, an icon or both, how many directions you want to see first, and whether you add the starter kit. Every project gets a written quote before work starts.
